The Department of Education (DepED) wants to ensure that every Filipino youth will have the opportunity to learn through a strategic framework launched recently.
This program is called Affordable Care (Education within reach) where free but high-quality education is offered at Filipino Out-of-School Youth (OSY). It is also a timely program to increase the literacy rate of Filipino youth.
According to data released by the government recently increased the number of OSY nationwide to 4.2 million. In this event, the purpose of the Affordable Care Program is to bring the OSY back to school.
The program aims to reach the country's zero percent OSY by 2016. By providing adequate education and developing OSY's livelihood skills, DepED believes that the Affordable know the local government's role here is important because they will be careful OSY database data in their place.
Affordability is part of the pro-alternative Learning System (ALS) through non-formal education which is not DepED even if LGU's have a role to play in studying schools under this program.
But, it still needs to be personal children interact with their teacher for a month to come up with clarification on complex topics. The government needs the support of every citizen. Let's try to force OSY people to sign up for this program.
The guide of The Coconut provides full support to this program. May this be the cure for the rising number of OSYs in the country.
